On Sunday, April 30, 2006, the Tucson based Arizona Daily Star carried a substantive lead opinion article by editorial columnist Jim Kiser calling for Wilderness designation for the Tumacacori Highlands located in southern Arizona.
A group of local sportsmen, outfitters, businesses and other interested citizens have organized to support Wilderness designation for the 12,000 acre Copper Salmon area to protect this watershed and ensure that hunting and fishing opportunities are protected.
